When some of my readers asked me to do a post on how to wear maxis to the office, I took it as a challenge and knew I had to come up with something.
My idea was to do a styling shoot showcasing the same but since that has delayed, I figured this will also suffice.
The tricky part with wearing maxis to the office is exactly how not to make them look too formal like for dinner/evening settings and also not too casual for the office.
My one advice would be to invest in statement blazers to avoid this dilemma and to also pair up the maxis with heels to avoid them looking too casual, most preferably, pointed heels or strappy sandals.
Another thing you will need to avoid is making the maxis be too flowy to the ground because then you will look like you are going for a ball or something and not to work. Plus you don’t want to get to mid-morning and your dress/skirt has an ombre look thanks to the dust you’ve gathered along as you walk.
Go for neutrals, pastels and dark/earthen colours too save for those once in awhile moments to avoid looking like you are at some wedding.
For those not for the maxi option, or if you want to spice it up abit, you can also do midi dresses or skirts since they kinda have a similar effect.
Get creative with your long trench coat and wear it as a maxi dress belted up and with the right shoes and you are good to go.

So, do you think this is something you would try?
How about you let me read your thoughts on this.
In the meantime, MAXI-mise your week won’t ya! 🙂
