“And the beauty of a woman, with passing years only grows!”
― Audrey Hepburn
Just how old is too old for one to start blogging?
Ever asked yourself that?
Most times we start blogging in our twenties or earlier when we are still adventurous, stylish and have the perfect bodies.
Before the wrinkles, stretch marks and flabby waists start showing, because we have the notion that fashion blogging is all about perfection. That everything about us has to be just right. Nothing needs to be filtered, lifted or tucked in and nothing needs concealing.
That is far from it.
Yes, more than other people, fashion bloggers are put on a higher pedestal and nothing but perfection is expected from them. To some extent, that is okay, we always have to bring our A game on, always put our best foot forward, but to be honest much as we would love this to be the case, it doesn’t always work that way.
Once in a while we will falter. Wear clashing outfits, apply makeup wrongly, pose awkwardly and so on. And that, that is what makes us human, that is what make this fun, that is what makes this real. Show me a perfect person and I will show you someone hiding something. We can’t always be perfect 24/7.
On to my question, how old is too late?
I say NEVER.
Because at all points in your life, you have something new, old, recycled to offer. You are your own unique self. We may all be fashion blogging but we are all bringing something different to the table. We have different styles, different audiences and different approaches.
So never feel too old to blog.
If this is what rocks your boat, go ahead, do it.
If your finger are itching to put that post down, do it.
The thing about women is that fashion and clothes, are a big part of us and we never tire to talk about them, look at the awesome photo and even try out a new thing.
So yes, yours may not be the average age preference, but that shouldn’t hold you back.
Be you and show us why you deserve to be in the blogosphere.
I’d rather regret the things I have done than regret the things I haven’t done.
I hope this encourages some ‘old guard’ who’s been wondering whether they are too late for the party or not.
The room is crowded but there is always space for one more, regardless of age.
Enjoy your weekend.
