GREY MATTER: Think Midi!

Good afternoon!

See what I did with the title, no?

What’s in a colour?

I find I always lean to this question, but it’s because I find colours speak volumes. Some command presence without shouting, some look shy and timid, some show your wild and adventurous side and some are just modest. Well, here’s to grey *cling cling.*

Grey became a highly fashionable color in the 18th century, both for women’s dresses and for men’s waistcoats and coats. Grey and blue, when put next to each other, have a positive association of reflection, so Wikipedia tells me. I guess I was on the same thinking mode with them when I paired this ensemble.

IMG_2530Did you know that the character Cinderella takes her name from the color of cinders or ashes i.e. grey? Now, you know.

I am rapidly becoming a huge fan of this neutral hue as I find it has an understated elegance beneath it.

The midi length of the skirt just served to spice up the outfit, unfortunately I don’t have a photo that shows you how the backside looks like. It has a back zipper from the top all the way to the bottom. This can be worn to work and quickly switched to an evening outing with no stress at all.
